A collage of seven garden-sculpture suns, photographed separately, then combined in a poster.
How the Seven Suns constellation came to be:
The suns were extracted from a photo of the back wall at Southwest Pottery.
Southwest Pottery, in Mesa, Arizona, sells colorful ceramic items and metal sculptures.
Their sprawling outdoor lot is huge.
Their sprawling outdoor lot goes on forever.
Only a space this astronomically large could hold so many suns. (Makes sense if you think about it.)
Besides pottery, they have many animal sculptures. Most, like the giraffes in the background, are quite large.
Rings of metal-art cacti encircle herds of metal-art animals, both real and mythical.
A thick wall of multi-colored flowers keeps these metallic beasts contained. In the foreground, a trio of spiky iguanas march single file.
A half-dozen large ceramic frogs bask in the blazing hot sun, surprisingly, without croaking.
