I think this is exactly what your beautiful momma is doing.
Mom has been an inspiration for us all. Witnessing her stoic suffering through daily decline is still more bitter than sweet. However, mom still stays sweet. There are many others (and no judgement here, because life can be a bitch) whose only recourse seems to be: express bitter ire, until you expire.
